The effect of horn speaker material on sound

A horn loudspeaker is basically composed of a driver unit, a crossover and a sound box. While the design of these three parts is important, the materials of horn speakers used are also closely related to the sound quality. If some materials are changed and the rest remain the same, the sound is bound to be different. The difference can be quite noticeable.

Some DIYers try to replace the original material with a different material, such as replacing a crossover with a "master-grade" capacitor, or replacing the original wiring with a heating wire. Some of these affect the sound quality of a part is an elusive thing.

You might think that replacing the lead part will improve the sound, but sometimes the opposite is true, and the sound quality or balance of the original part is better. This may be because the design was carefully tested for part matching. Enthusiasts can experiment on their own, but once they do, they lose the agent's warranty. You are free to change the original parts, of course you are responsible for the problem.
